September diaper drives collect more than 5,000 diapers in Oswego County
The Oswego County Early Childhood Alliance says drives hosted by nine organizations in September collected 5,478 diapers, 24 packages of wipes and $140 in donations, according to a county news release. The alliance, a division of Integrated Community Planning of Oswego County, Inc., ran them to recognize National Diaper Need Awareness Week and support the Oswego County Diaper Bank. The $140 will go toward about 700 more diapers, and 123 local children will each receive an extra supply of 50 diapers through the Diaper Bank. The release says diaper need "can create a significant financial burden for families with young children."
