Small fire at Bristol Hill Landfill is out; normal operations continue
A small fire at the Bristol Hill Landfill was extinguished Friday morning, Oct. 16, with minimal disruption to operations, according to an Oswego County news release. County Solid Waste staff discovered it after noticing smoke from an area that had been inactive for the past few months, and landfill personnel and volunteers from local fire departments doused the flames, the county said. The landfill and transfer station will operate as normal while an investigation determines the source.
