Publix promotes its CIO to chief information and digital officer
Publix announced Wednesday that it promoted senior vice president and CIO Laurie Douglas to executive vice president and chief information and digital officer, effective Jan. 1, 2027, CIO Dive and Grocery Dive reported. The grocer also announced six other promotions in its technology division, two in industrial operations and one in finance, which take effect at the start of next year. Publix said most of the promotions stem from three retirements, two in technology and one in industrial operations, including Vice President Steve Wellslager, who retired at the end of August after 38 years.
