Jury selection begins Monday in Schenectady trial in 2022 killing of 14-year-old girl
Jury selection begins at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, in Schenectady County Court in the trial of a man, now 18, charged with murder in the 2022 killing of 14-year-old Samantha Humphrey, WNYT reported. Court documents say Humphrey and the defendant were both 14 when she was killed, that she went on a late-night walk in Riverside with him on Nov. 25, 2022, and that her body was later found in the Mohawk River. The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. Her father, Jeff Humphrey, said, "I'm trying not to think too hard about that and just sort of let events happen."
