NYSE begins extended-hours options trading
The New York Stock Exchange began extended-hours options trading Monday for 29 heavily traded stocks and funds, including Nvidia, Bank of America, the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust and the iShares Russell 2000 ETF, CNBC reported. The sessions run from 7:30 a.m. to 9:25 a.m. ET and from 4:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. ET, and from Dec. 6, 2026, NYSE will extend trading to 23 hours, five days a week, in the same names. NYSE is the second major exchange to announce extended-hours options trading, following Cboe, which said it will introduce extended trading for 25 single stocks and five ETFs. CNBC said volume was "very muted" in the first extended session, with a little over 3,000 Tesla option contracts traded, according to SpotGamma data.
