White dwarf stars come in a range of colours, analysis shows

Most white dwarf stars are white, but an analysis shows that a few come in a range of colours, including green, a colour that has never before been spotted in a star, Nature reported in a news article published Oct. 21. The article, which describes work by Hollands, Gänsicke, Tremblay and Koester published in RAS Techniques and Instruments, says analysis of some nearby stars shows they can be pink, yellow and more.
