Doncic and Warriors rookie Lendeborg trade words in Lakers' season-opening win
Luka Doncic said Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg "was talking crazy" after the Lakers beat Golden State 127-105 in their season opener on Wednesday, the New York Post reported. The Post said the jawing began late in the second quarter, that Lendeborg, the No. 11 pick in June's draft, received a technical foul with 22 seconds left in the first half, and that Doncic made a halfcourt shot at the buzzer to give the Lakers a 66-52 lead. Doncic, who was assessed 16 technical fouls last season, said he stayed quiet to avoid another; "I wasn't trying to talk back this season," he said. ESPN's summary of its own story says Lendeborg called it an "interesting first game for me" after defending Doncic in his professional debut.
