Fortnite returns to Apple's App Store in Australia after a court ruling
Epic Games told Reuters that Fortnite would return to Apple's App Store in Australia on Oct. 22, after a federal court ordered Apple to open its iOS system to competition, MacRumors reported. Australia was the only country left out when Fortnite returned to the App Store worldwide in May, and Epic held off while seeking further court orders on Apple's payment terms, MacRumors said. The court ordered Apple to allow alternative app stores and to let developers offer alternative payment options, and Apple must implement the orders by March 1, 2027, or show by Feb. 15, 2027 that it needs an extension, according to Engadget. An Apple spokesperson told Reuters the company disagrees with many parts of the decision, will request a stay and will appeal.
