Apple sets up covered installations outside its Fifth Avenue store ahead of the iPhone Duo launch
Apple is setting up large covered structures beside the glass cube at its Fifth Avenue store in New York ahead of the iPhone Duo's launch on Friday, Oct. 23, MacRumors and 9to5Mac reported. 9to5Mac said their shapes strongly suggest giant iPhone Duo models, while MacRumors said the designs are hidden by wrapping and black covers, so it is unclear how Apple will present the device. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported Apple plans to allocate more than 150 iPhone Duo units to demonstrations and displays at Fifth Avenue, compared with around 20 at typical non-flagship locations, according to MacRumors. Apple has confirmed limited walk-in availability in the United States and several other markets and warned that launch-day inventory is expected to sell out quickly, MacRumors said.
