The Oswego County Office for the Aging is collecting meal kits for seniors facing food insecurity, according to a county release. Kits can be dropped off at the office, 74 Bunner St., Oswego, on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday, Nov. 13. The release said the kits are meant for seniors who may live in rural areas without access to food sources or who have used up other food options. The release listed three suggested kits: chicken alfredo (a can of shredded chicken, a jar of alfredo sauce, a package of pasta and a packet of Italian seasoning), chili mac (a box of macaroni and cheese, a can of chili, a can of diced tomatoes and a can of green beans) and breakfast (oatmeal, dried or canned fruit and granola bars). Residents can assemble their own kit if all ingredients fit in a two-gallon plastic bag and the meal needs only a heat source or water. Questions go to Elizabeth Weimer at 315-349-3570.
