Ripple and Robinhood announce a partnership to use Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin across Robinhood's businesses

Ripple and Robinhood announced a partnership on Tuesday morning under which RLUSD, Ripple's dollar stablecoin, will be a key stablecoin across Robinhood's digital asset business, according to the companies' joint release. The release said RLUSD is live on Robinhood Chain and Bitstamp by Robinhood and is expected in the Robinhood app later this year, that Robinhood will use RLUSD on the XRP Ledger for institutional settlement, and that Robinhood will integrate Ripple Treasury for its own treasury operations. It said Ripple Prime provides Bitstamp with lending and margin financing across roughly 20 digital assets, with perpetual futures trading on Bitstamp to be supported later in the year. CNBC reported the same terms and quoted Ripple President Monica Long and Robinhood Crypto's Johann Kerbrat from company statements. The release said RLUSD's market capitalization has passed $2.5 billion since its December 2024 launch and that total stablecoin supply exceeds $300 billion; CNBC gave the same two figures and said Tether's USDT and Circle's USDC still dominate the market. Robinhood was due to report third-quarter results after the market closed Tuesday, CNBC said. The companies did not give financial terms.
