Marine Le Pen launched her campaign for the French presidency on Sunday at a rally in Orleans, Al Jazeera, Arab News (AFP) and DW reported; Al Jazeera said organizers put the crowd at 8,500, and DW called it her fourth bid. "We are going to re-establish the rule of law," Le Pen said, according to Al Jazeera. Arab News reported that she accused Macron's government of being soft on violent protesters and lacking authority, and promised tougher immigration laws and what she called double borders, French and European. Arab News also reported that she is running despite an appeals court upholding a graft conviction against her, that an Ipsos survey published Saturday suggested she would win 32 to 34 percent of the first-round vote, and that thousands of counter-protesters marched in Orleans on Saturday chanting anti-fascist slogans. The vote is in April and May, Arab News reported.
