The San Francisco 49ers lost 26-20 to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, 25 October, the New York Post reported. After kicker Eddy Piñeiro missed an extra-point attempt that would have followed a Kyle Juszczyk touchdown catch with 5:05 left in the fourth quarter, coach Kyle Shanahan was asked whether the team would work out other kickers during its bye week and said he did not know, adding "we'll probably discuss on the plane." The Post said it was Piñeiro's fourth missed extra point of the season, and that through seven games he has missed seven kicks, three field goals and four extra points. Shanahan described his frustration with special teams as "about equal with the rest of our team."
