Daughters of the American Revolution chapter marks the graves of eight Revolutionary War patriots at Oakwood Cemetery in Penfield
A grave-marking ceremony at Oakwood Cemetery in Penfield honored eight of the twelve Revolutionary War patriots buried there, WROC reported. The Mary Fellows Penfield Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution organized it, with an American Legion color guard, local leaders and musicians taking part. Chapter president Terry Bruno said the event fit the nation's 250th anniversary celebration and the group's aim of preserving American history, and WROC reported that chapter members also spent time cleaning gravestones in the cemetery.
