By D. Marlowe · October 27, 2026 · First reported October 24, 2026 · Edited by C. Fletcher

Jason and Kent Nelson of Queensbury helped host a pet adoption clinic at the Saratoga County Animal Shelter on Saturday, NEWS10 reported. NEWS10 reported that their 12-year-old golden retriever, Wilson, went missing from daycare and was found dead near the water where he disappeared on Sept. 10, after an eight-day search involving hundreds of people. Jason Nelson told NEWS10 that, with Saratoga County District Attorney Brett Eby and Sheriff Jeff Brown, the clinic raised over $300 for the shelter and adopted out five cats and three dogs. The Nelsons have started a nonprofit, Wilson's Legacy, and are advocating for Warren and Washington Counties to adopt animal cruelty legislation like Saratoga County's, NEWS10 reported. NEWS10 also reported that animal shelters across the region are reaching capacity.
