NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory listed 23 asteroids passing within 0.05 au of Earth from Oct. 29 through Dec. 3, and the closest was 2026 UE2, at a nominal distance of 0.00083 au (about 0.3 lunar distances) at 01:26 TDB on Oct. 29, according to JPL's close-approach data. As of Tuesday morning, the closest pass still ahead was 2021 VC4, listed for 17:30 TDB on Nov. 3 at a nominal 0.0153 au (about 6.0 lunar distances). After it, the closest listed was 2023 VF3, at 0.0217 au at 08:45 TDB on Nov. 11. NASA's Earth Observatory Natural Event Tracker, filtered to volcanoes, wildfires and landslides, listed three events added since Oct. 29, all prescribed fires in Coconino County, Arizona, sourced to the federal IRWIN incident system. As of Tuesday morning, they were Dry Lake Hills Piles (902 acres, Oct. 30), McCarty Piles (832 acres, Oct. 29) and Freidland-Chimney Piles (1,029 acres, Oct. 29).
