The Oklahoma City Thunder will retire Russell Westbrook's No. 0 on Sunday, 7 February, when they host the New York Knicks at Paycom Center, the team announced Monday. Westbrook, who retired in August after 18 NBA seasons, 11 of them with the Thunder, will be the second Thunder player to have his number retired, after Nick Collison's No. 4, according to the team and ESPN. Westbrook retired as the franchise leader in games (821), points (18,859), rebounds (5,760), assists (6,897) and steals (1,442), the Thunder said. He was the 2016-17 league MVP after becoming the first player since Oscar Robertson to average a triple-double for a season, ESPN reported. General manager Sam Presti said in the team's release that Westbrook's legacy "was built both on the court and in the community."
