Nearly 2 million people voted early in New York this election season, a 67 percent increase over the 2022 midterm elections, when just under 1.2 million voted early and in person, WAMC reported Nov. 2, citing unofficial results from the State Board of Elections. Voters outside New York City and Long Island accounted for about 46 percent of the early turnout, WAMC reported. In Monroe County, early voting ended Sunday, Nov. 1, with nearly 96,000 ballots cast, almost double the turnout of four years earlier, WHEC reported.
